Childcare Workers perform an extremely important role for children and families in Australia. The standard of care and support you provide as a worker in childcare affects the wellbeing and development of the children under your care.
The Certificate III in Children’s Services is a foundational childcare qualification that provides you with the skills to gain entry to employment or further studies in the childcare sector. Many of the core units of the Certificate III in Children’s Services are required to gain entry into the Diploma of Children’s Services (Early Childhood Education and Care) (CHC50908) program.
What you will learn
During the course you’ll learn how to work effectively in a child care setting to provide care to children and facilitate their leisure and play to achieve their developmental outcomes.
The key skills you will develop are:
- Work effectively and safely in a childcare service
- Interact with and care effectively for children
- Support the development and behaviour of children
- An appreciation of diversity, especially in relation to culture and ability.
Roles you can perform with this qualification
After finishing your qualification, you have a sufficient level of skill and knowledge to perform the following roles in a child careenvironment:
- Childcare Worker
- Childcare Assistant
- Family Daycare Worker
- Playgroup Supervisor
- Nanny
