Start working in aged care
Aged Care Workers provide direct care and support to elderly people usually in a residential or aged care facility. The quality of care and support you provide to your client critically affects their quality of life, wellbeing and safety.
The Certificate III in Aged Care provides you with the skills to carry out activities related to the maintenance of an individual’s personal care and other life activities in accordance with their individualised care plan. Some of the core units of the Certificate III in Aged Care are required to gain entry into the Certificate IV in Aged Care (CHC40108) program.
What you will learn
During the course you’ll learn how to work effectively with the elderly including:
- Providing quality and effective care in a residential or aged care setting
- Interacting with and caring effectively for the elderly
- Supporting the independence and personal care needs of the elderly, and
- An appreciation of diversity, especially in relation to culture and ability.
